New Hamburg, Ontario – June 24, 2025 – With shovels in the ground and construction getting under way, Tri-County Mennonite Homes (TCMH) is proud to announce the official groundbreaking of its new long-term care home, Nithview Home, in New Hamburg. This project marks the next step of TCMH’s vision of Making Every Day Matter by increasing long-term care capacity in the community.

The New Nithview will provide 160 upgraded long-term care beds, increasing access to services within the community and helping more individuals live and age close to home.

“This groundbreaking is great news for our community,” said Mike Harris, MPP for Kitchener Conestoga. “Replacing the Nithview Home with a new state-of-the-art facility will ensure our community has access to the care they need for generations to come.”

“This project is not just about bricks and mortar. It’s about ensuring seniors can age with dignity in their community, where many have spent their lives,” said Dr. Steven Harrison, Chief Executive Officer at TCMH. “We are grateful for the support of our partners, donors, and local leaders who share our commitment to strengthening care in Ontario.”

The groundbreaking ceremony saw community supporters, elected officials, project partners, and members of the TCMH team. The event celebrated the collective effort needed to bring this project to life.

Construction is expected to be completed by late-Summer 2027, with services launching shortly thereafter.
